Join Douglas County Clerk and Recorder, Merlin Klotz, for a discussion about Colorado Elections Security and the laws, policies and procedures in place to ensure the integrity and accuracy of each election.
About Mr. Klotz
Merlin Klotz was elected to his first term as Douglas County Clerk and Recorder in November 2014. He has served as an Election Judge since 2009 and views running Elections as the most important function of the Office. ?Our very freedom is premised on fair and accurate elections,? he?s said.
Merlin brings a diverse background to the Office. A CPA with more than 40 years of experience in public accounting and private industry, he has been involved in more than a dozen start-up companies and mergers, built hundreds of budgets and prepared more than 100 business plans throughout his career. He also has a history of designing and installing software and has designed multi-state payroll systems.
In addition to serving as the County?s Clerk and Recorder, Merlin is also a director on the Parker Water and Sanitation District Board of Directors. He has served on HOA boards, helped to run political campaigns for others and been a primary organizer for the first two attempts to form the City of Centennial and personally posted the bonds to see the Arapahoe County community become a City.
Merlin has a bachelor?s degree in business administration in accounting from the University of Iowa and did graduate work in finance at Iowa as well.
Pre-registration is required. The deadline to register is 9:00 am on the Monday prior to lunch.
